Oh how things have changed
These past few weeks have been some of the most exciting of my whole career. March Started out with the opening of my joint show "Entangled" with sculptor Christine Harries (www.christinekharris.com) at Lemon Tree Gallery in Cape Charles. The show goes until May 28th so there is still a little bit of time to catch it! Below is a little video and pictures from our opening. A little over due, lol, but fun none the less :)
In April I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Daphne's Corner, a segment on PBS Richmond!! I added the interview in a separate blog post. Please check it out and tell me what you think! This was the first time I did an interview of this type and not to mention on television, so I was very nervous.. But I think I did ok :D
The most exciting bit of news by far, and the reason I have yet again failed to update my blog for so long.. I recently moved to Florida! I think I have mentioned in past posts my husband and I were visiting on and off for a about a year. Well, the last time we got back we knew it was time to make the move. We began packing the day we got back from our vacation and left two weeks later! We are now living in Stuart, southern Florida, part of the Treasure Coast. I think this move will do wonders for my art career. The opportunities here astounding. There are already so many big things in the works! We recently rented a little home and it is zoned for commercial/residential use. This is so exciting because I could potentially have a studio open to the public, create pop up shops every month, and even eventually have a fully functioning gallery to show my work as well as other artists! I don't want to get too ahead of myself but I just thrilled with the possibilities! I will be posting photos and updating with all the new developments!
Another bit of exciting news. A few weeks ago I was invited to participate in a show with a cultural arts association called ARS Art Space in MILAN ITALY! I have done a few international shows in the past but this is a big one. There will be a huge opening with press as well as Italian art critics. Eeek! There are so many things to be excited about Im simply bursting at the seams! The two pieces Im sending are "Fallacious Distractions" and "Winter Flowers" pictured below
I have even MORE exciting news. But I will hold off until my next blog post as I'm still finalizing details on this one :) Until then, enjoy the rest of May, and stay inspired!
